Health Care Reform: The case for and against the public option

Here’s the skinny from both sides of the aisle in perhaps the biggest policy debate in our lifetime:  health care reform.

I will be giving you my opinion shortly, but I thought that it would be fair to first examine the issue from the halls of Washington D.C. journalism school.  Let the spin begin.

First up is Sheldon Richman from the American Conservative, who believes that any type of public option means government takeover, and that means disaster.

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), suggests that rampant fraud and waste by insurance companies has caused the need for reform, including having a public option.

Madison Powers in CQPolitics, shares an unbiased take on debate of the public option and reform.
